Golds Shoe Service

I will not go again. First time that I went in the lady working there was surly. No amount of friendliness on my part would elicit a pleasant response. I thought perhaps she was just having a bad day. Next time I went in to get my footwear she was the same. They didn't even bother to clean or polish my shoes when they repaired - then she shoved them all into ONE small bag with winter boots pressing down on three pair of heels! I will drive further to someone who appreciates my business.

Good work, good service, but a bit expensive in my opinion. I got a zipper replaced on a pair of leather boots at another location in Barrie a few years ago for $25. When I took a similar pair into Gold's, it was $50. To get the heels reinforced and the zippers replaced on both boots would have been $200! That's the cost of a new pair. I understand that they need to make money, but it also seems like it needs to be cheap enough that it's worth repairing vs. buying new.

Great service

Paul put thick leather soles on the front half of my jazz dance sneakers and rubber on the heel so I can spin on paving stones, and asphalt and cement. Tested at Salsa Festival at Blue Mountain. Works wonderfully. The suede he put on the soles of my indoor dance shoes for ballroom dancing is holding up beautifully.
