Excellent food made by people who care. The Chicken Roti is excellent. Spiced just right, and a good sized portions. The meal is fresh, made to order and the service friendly. My kids are now big fans of Caribbean food. The Doubles are also very good. The Jerk Chicken and Ox Tails are delicious. My family and I get take out here about once every three weeks. A bit pricey, but really a wonderful experience overall. One thing to note is the two-hour limit on dining, which is best to know about in advance. I've been here a number of times and I'm never disappointed! Its a great place to bring friends to try something delicious and unique. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. I was there on a recent Saturday evening at 5:30 and had to wonder, though, why the hostess felt compelled to inform me that my table was booked at 7:30. It felt rather rude and unwelcoming. I have no control over the efficiency of your kitchen or servers. There must be a better way. A sign? A note on your website?

I absolutely love this place! Although the atmosphere of this restaurant is rather dark, gloomy, and sketchy, they have one of the best steaks and lobster in town.
Usually we order bbq ribs and potato fries for appetizers.
These appetizers are usually mediocre.
As for the entree we always order the rib eye steak as well as 2lb-4lb lobster.
The rib eye steak at House of chan is one of the best steaks I have ever had. The steak at House of Chan melts in your mouth as you eat it. This type of steak should only be eaten if you enjoy the natural taste of steak, and are expecting no additional added flavours.
The lobster is usually just as good as the steak. They offer you a rich butter as a dip. I really enjoy this dish as well.

This place has a great atmosphere. The music wasn't too loud, so casual dining was nice. Our server (we believe his name was Matt, he had an accent) was very knowledgable and wasn't overly trying to upsell constantly. The food was fantastic and tasted great. I first visited Allen's back in the 80's, not long after it opened, and I was instantly smitten. So much so, in fact that I moved into the neighbourhood! First I was a regular, then a nuisance, and finally a piece of furniture. I finally moved back to Markham in 1998, and cannot justify going anywhere south of Steeles Avenue without stopping into Allen's for lunch. The food is imaginative, superbly prepared, and so delicious, that even when I'm full, I often look at the menu again, just to see what I'll be ordering on my next visit!
And the patio? Don't get me started......
