2 homemade cosmetics ideas for dry skin

1. Flower balm

This super soft mixture of comfrey, elderflower, fennel and rose water moisturizes the pores of dry skin as fully as possible. Elderflower soothes irritation, fennel restores pH and comfrey produces a mucilage with recognized moisturizing properties.

  • 15 g (1 tbsp) dried fennel
  • 15 g (1 tbsp) dried elderflowers
  • 180 ml (3/4 cup) rose water
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) witch hazel
  • 5 g (1 tsp) vegetable glycerin
  • 5 drops essential oil of rose
  1. Put the plants in a coloured glass jar and add rose water and witch hazel. Close tightly and let the mixture sit in the dark for two weeks and shake once per day. Filter.
  2. Add glycerin and rose oil and pour into a measuring bottle.
  3. Spray on cleansed skin before applying a moisturizer. Keep this balm in the refrigerator and use it within 10 days.

2. Elixir for very dry skin

This moisturizing serum is specially designed for very dry or sensitive skin. The essential oils of sandalwood and calendula are anti-inflammatory and regenerating; the macadamia nut and rosehipoils provide essential fatty acids.
