Be a karaoke star even If you can't sing

It's possible to be a karaoke star at the bar even if you can't sing, especially if you follow some of the helpful tips listed below.

Be a karaoke star even If you can't sing

Lose the self-consciousness

Considering that just about everyone who takes the stage can't sing very well, there's no reason to be self-conscious. There's no reason to worry about other people and their opinions. Just go up and enjoy your song as much as possible and forget about the haters.

Make it about the performance, not the singing

If you're afraid your voice might not be up to par, don't worry. Embrace your lack of singing talent and use those special few minutes up on stage to show off your performance skills. Become the rock star you've wanted to be since you were alone in your bedroom as a kid losing it to your favourite song. Rip on your air guitar, be over dramatic, whip your head and hair around to the beat. Anyone can sing and sing along but not everyone can perform. Audiences love a good show, so give them what they want!

Pick the perfect song

Some tunes are perfect for a bar of strangers to suddenly join together in song. "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond or "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey have a way of turning bars into choirs. Know these songs and pull them out when the karaoke crowd is most ready for them. This is usually not at the beginning or very end of the night — though it's not a bad way to go out. Know these songs as well as you can and perform your heart out because everyone in the crowd will be more than willing to help you out.
