Exploring the world of role-playing games

Tabletop games

Tabletop role-playing games are played like traditional board games. They usually include a game board, dice, cards and tokens that advance according to the player’s luck or skill in the game’s particular context.

Participants may play a designated character whose movements are limited to certain locations or actions. This form of role play allows players to gather around the same table and create a very friendly atmosphere. Fun is guaranteed.

Live-action RPGs

Called "live action" or "LARP," this kind of game invites players to literally embody a character in a fully equipped real-world environment for the game. Some sessions may last for several hours or even days.

Often LARPs consist of events planned well in advance, which have been organized by true enthusiasts. Live action is the ultimate way to slip into the skin of a game character and have a colourful experience that disconnects you from daily life for a while.

Video games

Some video games also fit in the role-playing games category. They are characterized by a completely fictional world that allows a character to evolve throughout the game. It is possible to play these video games alone or online, along with other players who evolve in the same environment and who can even interact with each other.

Video games are gaining in popularity because they now make it possible to be part of a community while staying in the comfort of your living room.

Games that bring people together

Role-playing games are for all types of players, from the most outgoing to the most timid. Yes, that is right: sometimes it can be easier for an introvert to express him or herself through a character. It can even be quite liberating for some people.

Moreover, many friendships are born out of role-playing games. After the ice is broken, everybody gets to know each other bit by bit. It is a nice way to meet people or just to have fun with others who share the same interests.

So, are you ready for a game? Who will you be this time? A witch? A werewolf? A princess?
