Choose your stylist carefully. Look for someone with professional training and lots of experience. To maintain your extensions, you should:

• Go to your stylist for maintenance at least once a month. Your stylist will check the bonds on the extensions to see if any need replacing.
• Prevent tangles by using a wide-toothed comb, running a mild conditioner through with your fingers, and tying hair back loosely when sleeping.
• Don't pull at your extensions too much when styling. If your extensions are synthetic, don't apply heat. Even with real hair extensions, you must be careful not to melt the bonds.
• Refrain from trying to colour your extensions; it will damage the bonds. Colour your hair before having the extensions attached.
